The project is one of Hanoi’s key digital transformation initiatives, applying artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen public security, maintain public order and improve road safety while contributing to the city’s smart urban development.

After nearly three months of implementation, the project has installed 2,460 AI-powered cameras, 57 servers, 36 Video Management System (VMS) displays, 100 intelligent traffic control cabinets, 930 camera poles, 475 km of fiber-optic cable and 136 km of power cable across 238 major intersections.

The software platform, AI applications and central operations center have been integrated, tested and are ready for operation.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung stressed that the project’s objective is not only to complete the installation but also to ensure the system operates reliably and is used effectively to support command and control, maintain public security and order, and improve road traffic safety.

The Director of Hanoi Police instructed relevant units to complete the remaining work, finalize acceptance and handover procedures, establish operating protocols, and maximize the AI system’s capabilities for traffic management and traffic violation enforcement.

Hanoi Police will also continue expanding AI applications, leveraging big data and integrating specialized systems to build a unified data platform supporting the city’s command and operational management.
